Living Space Renovation: Network Space
Introduction
To satisfy my own needs, I built a relatively high-speed and full-featured home network environment: 2.5G intranet, NAS, and remote access.
This post records my network configuration and future plans.
Version
26/03/15 initial version
26/06/28 update: changed broadband service and adapted the network for a dedicated VR router.
Overview
The topology is shown below. The home connection is a 500M China Mobile broadband line. The optical modem is bridged into an ASUS RT-BE88U router. Two 2.5G switches, one in the bedroom and one in the living room, connect all devices. The physical layout is described in Living Space Renovation: Physical Space.
